Unfortunately the only way I was able to keep getting my medication was to change jobs and luckily I found one with an amazing insurance policy. Abbvie found about about this and said that they only cover half the amount if your insurance does that because it's basically just a scam for the insurance company to get more money and that's not what the copay assistance is for. The plan I had used what they called a "copay assistance maximizer policy" which basically took the $15,000 that the copay assistance card from Abbvie allowed and divided it by 12 so my "copay" for it was $1,250 every month. I had the same issue with my previous insurance and Humira. I hate our medical system in this country. I've been on the phone for hours today getting the runaround from CVS. If the Amgen Edge csrd counts toward my deductible then I will be fine. What I am unclear on is if it will count towards my deductible or not. They said that I may qualify for Amgen Edge, which reimburses patients for out of pocket costs paid towards their Enbrel prescription. Well, I inadvertently informed Amgen of this and they made me ineligible for the copay assistance card. They specifically date that your deductible must be paid by you and you cannot use copay assistance towards the deductible. My new insurance does not do this because of something called copay adjustment policy. My old insurance would apply the Enbrel Copay care payments towards my deductible, which apparently is a requirement to be eligible for it. I was told that the plan was very similar to what I currently had. I accepted a new job and a promotion in February. I have been on Enbrel since last April and departed sa few rough patches, it has been the only thing that remotely helps alleviate my PsA symptoms.
